New homes for council tenants ready by September 2016

GRAVESHAM council is to build 19 new homes to help meet the borough’s housing needs.

There will be 12 one-bedroom apartments for people aged 55 years and over in St Gregory’s Court Gravesend, a pair of two-bedroom bungalows at Greenhill Road in Northfleet and five family homes at Alanbrooke, Gravesend.

The building work at St Gregory’s Court started in January 2015, with Greenhill due to start in the spring and the Alanbrook development following on this autumn.

The homes are due for completion between January 2016 and September 2016

Cllr Sue Howes said: “The plans for building 19 new homes, as well as working alongside our partners in supplying affordable housing for the residents of Gravesham show the council’s commitment to creating more homes for local people with a housing need.

“We are working hard to try to provide good quality, affordable homes for local people in the borough”.
