Council’s grant scheme has distributed the cash over two years

Gravesham Borough Council has awarded £400,000 to community groups and organisations over the past two years.

The council’s Communities And Neighbourhoods grant scheme has made donations of anywhere between £120 and £12,300 to groups ranging from sports clubs and choirs to voluntary groups and training organisations.

The money has been used for everything from buying new equipment and refurbishing sports facilities to running training sessions helping people with their job-hunting skills.

Cllr Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, the council’s lead member for business and the community, said: “It has been wonderful visiting all the people who have been awarded grants and seeing the amazing difference they have made to the community.”

If you would like to apply for a grant, call the council on 01474 564422.
