43-year-old cyclist dies after collision with car in Shorne

A 43-year-old cyclist has died after a collision with a car in Shorne last night.

The man from Chatham was declared dead at the scene after the collision with a silver Citroen Picasso car.

Police and ambulance services were called to Gravesend Road at 9.10pm and the air ambulance also attended.

The road was closed from the Gravesend Road junction with Green Farm Lane, Wainscott Bypass to Castle Lane while emergency services were in attendance and for officers to carry out an investigation.

The road was reopened at half past midnight.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading to it.
