Chatty man Alan Carr will test out new material at an intimate gig in Gravesend next month.

The BAFTA award winner and chat show host is following up his last nationwide tour, Spexy Beast, with his third effort - Work In Progress.

He will be developing and ditching gags at the Woodville, in Woodville Place, on February 1 as part of their ongoing Comedy and Curry nights.

Theatre manager, Neil Chandler, said: “We are thrilled to be having Alan Carr here at the Woodville, our Comedy and Curry nights have proved to be really successful and are great nights out at an affordable price.”

Carr found mainstream fame in 2006 when he began hosting Channel 4’s The Friday Night Project alongside Justin Lee Collins.

The following year he released his debut stand-up DVD, Tooth Fairy Live and in 2009 became the host of his own Friday night chat shot, Alan Carr: Chatty Man.

Last year he scooped the BAFTA for best entertainment performance, beating the likes of Graham Norton and And and Dec.

Tickets for his Gravesend show cost £13, or £18.50 with a curry. To book, call the box office on 01474 337 744 or visit
