Archant

Snow is set to cover north Kent today as the bitterly cold weather threatens to cause severe disruption.

Blizzards and strong winds are set to make conditions treacherous on the roads with snow forecast for much of the day.

The Met Office has issued an amber severe weather warning for the southeast England region.

Southeastern warns they may be disruption to some services although so far a good service is running.

The train company’s Twitter account told passengers to check its website southeasternrailway.co.uk/liverunning to get up-to-date travel news.

Extra staff will be on hand at larger stations to clear snow from platforms and stairs but Southeastern says it is still relying on Network Rail de-icer trains to keep the lines clear.
