Police are appealing for witnesses after a Mercedes with a French numberplate crashed on the A2 yesterday.

The C Class, silver-coloured car was travelling coastbound just before the Darenth Interchange at around 4.49am when it left the road, went down an embankment and came to rest on a footpath.

All four occupants were injured in the crash, including one of the passengers who sustained serious injuries.

He remains in a London hospital.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: “The Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the collision and ask that any witnesses, who have not already spoken to an officer, calls on 01622 798538 quoting DS/MS/098/17.

“Alternatively, email sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk.”
