DO you recognise any of the pupils in this picture taken at a Gordon Girls school in the 1940s?

Betty Gibson, 78, (pictured fourth from the left on the second row from the back) a former pupil at the school in Ordnance Road, Gravesend, sent this image to the Reporter to help her identify her fellow classmates.

The picture, thought to have been taken in the 1940s, was snapped in Fort Gardens, and shows some of the pupils of Gordon's School - now Chantry Primary School - dressed up ready to take part in a dancing event.

Mrs Gibson, (nee Herridge) who lived in Berkley Road, Gravesend and now lives in Sittingbourne, said: "I was looking through a lot of my old bits and pieces and came across this picture.

"I recognise a few of the girls, but there are a few gaps, and I would really like to know if any of them are still around and would like to get in contact."

If you recognise anyone in the picture, contact the news desk on 01474 320753.
