ARMED robbers fled with cash after raiding a fast-food outlet.

Two men, described as white and in their 20s, threatened staff with a knife and small handgun at KFC, in Valley Drive, Gravesend, before making off with cash from the till.

The attack came just before midnight last Sunday when the two walked in through the back door of the restaurant shortly after it had closed.

One man was tall and wore a dark jacket longer than waist length, dark trousers, light-coloured trainers and black knitted gloves. He hid his face by wearing a hood and a scarf wrapped around his mouth.

The second man was 5ft 10in tall and wore a dark blue hooded top and dark blue shiny tracksuit trousers. He wore his hood up and covered his face with a Burberry scarf.

Detective Inspector Ian Dampier, from north Kent's area crime unit, said: "If anyone saw them make their escape I would urge them to get in touch. Luckily, no one was hurt but the whole experience was still distressing for staff."

If you have information which may help police with their inquiries, call Detective Inspector Dampier on 01474 366091 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
