Christian Fields fire

Police are investigating after a derelict terraced house was thought to have been deliberately set on fire.

Firefighters from Thames-side, Dartford, Medway, Strood and Halling fought for more than two hours on Saturday night to prevent the blaze in the two-storey house from spreading to adjoining properties along Christianfields Avenue, Gravesend.

It was boarded up and awaiting demolition. Severe damage has been caused.

It was the second fire to break out in empty properties on Christianfields in the past six weeks.
