Blue Peter presenter Chris Collins accompanied judges from the South and South East in Bloom competition around Gravesend on Monday.

Chris, alongside judges Reg Leach and Yvonne Newman, visited the town centre where they were greeted by children from Holy Trinity School, in Trinity Road, at their community project in Church Street.

They also went on to visit the Gravesend Gurdwara, in Saddington Street.

Last year Gravesend was awarded a silver gilt certificate in the Southern Waters Regional competition, which encourages communities to create town centre floral features, as well as wildflower meadows and vegetable patches.

The winners in the three categories, horticultural achievement, environment responsibility and community participation, will be announced in September.
