Bluewater has donated £4,000 to conservation organisation WWF following the shopping centre's summer animal trail, Into the Wild.

The impressive sum was raised thanks to thousands of guests who enjoyed the hugely popular trail, which featured stunning statues of some of nature’s most extraordinary creatures, including an 18ft giraffe and a giant African elephant.

The funds donated will contribute to the vital work of WWF.

Robert Goodman, general manager at Bluewater, said: “Conservation is important to us at Bluewater, we are extremely proud of our award-winning green spaces and nature trail, and are very happy to support WWF’s great work.”

Louise Hall, WWF community events fundraiser, said: “We’re so grateful for this generous donation from Bluewater which will enable us to continue our vital conservation work.

“The Into The Wild trail was a brilliant activity, with some impressive sculptures too! Activities like these not only help raise funds but help inspire and educate children on endangered species, to develop a passion for our planet.”
