Police cordoned off the front garden of a large house when the body of an elderly man was discovered.

They were called to The Overcliffe, Gravesend, just after 7am on Tuesday, and covered the body with tarpaulin and closed the pavement area until 10.15am.

Forensic experts carried out initial investigations at the converted house which consists of about six flats but officers said they are not treating the death as suspicious.

A spokesperson said: “A post-mortem examination of the man, thought to be in his eighties, is due to take place in the next few days.”
