POLICE have formally identified the body of a man found in woodland nearly two months ago,

The badly decomposed body of Colin Barnes, 46, from Croydon was discovered in Canal Road, Higham.

Investigating officers have ruled out that his death was suspicious.

An inquest was opened and adjourned on April 22 after walkers found the body in woodland at Canal Road on April 7.

The area was cordoned off for a day while forensic experts carried out investigations and the body was then taken to Darent Valley Hospital for further examination.
