RESIDENTS can watch the first 'State of the Borough' debate next Tuesday when it is broadcast live via webcam.
The event will include an address by Gravesham Borough Council leader Mike Snelling and a response from the leader of the opposition, Councillor John Burden.
Two topics, determined by a ballot of residents' panel members, will then be debated.
Those up for discussion include the council's vision for the future of the town centre, current regeneration plans and projects, capitalising on High Speed 1, utilising the River Thames and opportunities from the 2010 Olympics.
Also being discussed will be changes to the running of the council with less Government money available to support duties and objectives.
Each topic will be introduced by the responsible cabinet member. The second speaker will be the shadow portfolio holder. Members of the council can then speak on the topic.
The leader of the opposition will then sum up and the council leader will close the debate on each topic.
Residents can attend the debate and it is expected to be screened in the Civic Centre reception.
