Cash-in-transit robbery at Gravesend ASDA

Police are is appealing for witnesses to reports of a robbery at the Asda store in Gravesend.

Officers were called at just before 12.30pm today (6) to the supermarket on Thames Way after reports a cash box was stolen.

Security guards had arrived at the store to fill the ATM machine when a red Mini Cooper parked up just outside the store and two men wearing balaclavas got out and attacked the security guard, before taking the cash box and making off.

The vehicle has since been located at Kendal Gardens, while the cash box has been recovered in Swanley.

The security guard suffered a bruised wrist as a result of the assault.
