The league is open to men and women aged 18 and above

Local tennis players of all abilities are being invited to take part in a tennis league starting up in Gravesend.

Anyone aged 18 and over can join the league, which costs £15 per round.

Players are organised into groups of 6-8 people of a similar level and arrange their own matches at convenient times over an eight week round.

Lead councillor for sport and leisure Alan Ridgers said: “With no annual membership to worry about, and only court fees to pay if applicable, it’s an affordable way to play friendly, competitive tennis in Gravesham.”

Co-founder of Local Tennis Leagues, Sally Kinnes, said: “Public courts often have events for children, but adults should not be forgotten.

“Tennis is one of the healthiest sports you can play and the league is a great opportunity to keep fit and make new tennis friends.

“Our players enjoy the flexibility of playing matches when it suits but also having a close match when they do play.”
