GENEROUS shoppers have raised £3,500 for St John's Ambulance in the county.

Morrisons chain allowed volunteers to fundraise at stores across the county in September. Money raised for the charity is set to beat last year's total of over £120,000.

Helen Collins, community fundraising co-ordinator said: "I would like to thank the generous and caring customers and the staff at their stores across Kent.

"This money will be invaluable to continue the life saving charitable work of St John Ambulance in the local community."

The service has 27 centres and eight training units across Kent and more than 1,000 members.
