A fundraising walk to help raise money for a local hospice is calling on locals to get involved.

Local hospice ellenor has organised a festive ramble through Shorne Woods Country Park on Sunday, December 11.

Last year more than 300 people set off on the walk to raise money for the hospice - three times the number from 2014.

Donning Santa hats, walkers will set off on the trail at 11am with the option to walk or run for 5km through the winter woodland.

“Our Winter Walk is not only a way of raising vital funds for families facing terminal illness, but it’s a reminder of the care we provide at ellenor to families in Kent over the entire Christmas period - both at the hospice and in patients’ own homes; ensuring that families can spend this special time of year together.” Said Emma Whittington, events manager at ellenor.
