Budding young photographers are being invited to snap their favourite pets this summer as part of a charity competition.

Vet charity PDSA has launched its annual contest under a ‘super pets’ theme, requesting photos that show what makes pets awesome.

The competition is free to enter, and has three age categories: under tens, 10-13 and 14-16-year-olds.

The winner of each age category will receive a print of their picture, a selfie stick, a professional photoshoot with their pet and a special VIP tour of one of PDSA’s Pet Hospitals.

Each child’s best photo should be emailed to with ‘Pet Photo Competition 2016’ in the subject, along with their full name and date of birth in the email.

The closing date is September 9.
