The last sponsored walk raised over £4,500

A local christian charity will be walking 12 miles to raise money for a hospice, tomorrow, June 3.

Member of Gateway Ministries will be taking to the streets of Erith to fundraise for Gravesend’s Ellenor so that the hospice can continue to deliver care for babies, children and adults with palliative and life-threatening conditions.

The organisation say the money they raise will go towards a specialist nursing service for children undergoing cancer treatment, as well as other services.

Gateway Chapel has taken part in intiatives with Ellenor for the past eight years, and its last sponsored walk raised over £4,500.

John Toju Ogbe, Gateway Ministries pastor in charge of community outreach projects, says: “The courage and bravery of Ellenor children touches the hearts of Gateway Chapel members. The positivity of the children and adults is truly humbling and an inspiration to us and others facing similar uncertainty.

“Money raised from the walk will mean they can spend as much time with their families and friends’ as possible.”
