Nearly 6,000 donations have been made

Close to 6,000 donations have been made at a donation drive in Bluewater.

Customers and staff have so far donated 5,900 gifts, ranging from soft toys to iPads, which will be distributed to children’s charities across the south east.

So far, even a television has been donated, as customers aim to reach the 10,000 gift target.

Robert Goodman, Bluewater general manager, said: “The Giving Tree encapsulates the true meaning of Christmas.

“We’ve been staggered by the kindness shown by visitors and staff to date. It is truly humbling. We’re keen to make this Christmas the biggest yet for The Giving Tree so urge anyone visiting to get involved and treat a child who might not get the family Christmas so many of us are lucky enough to enjoy.”
