Plans are underway for Cobham’s first food and drink festival, Munchies on the Meadow.

Billed as ‘a quintessential festival of flavour from the Garden of England’, it will take place on May 4 and feature demonstrations, including one named ‘from field to fork’ showing the skinning, butchering, cooking and tasting of an animal.

Foodie fare on offer includes pickles and preserves, cakes and honey, sausages and saveloys, pies and beer and wine and cheese.

Along with stalls from over 40 suppliers, there will be cookery tips, discussions and competitions.

The festival is from 11.30am to 6pm at the Meadow Room in Cobham. For details see www.meadowroom.org.uk
