A couple will appear in court today following the fatal shooting of father-of-three Kevin McKinley in Dartford in February.

Michaela Sargeant, 24, and Lewis Wickenden, 25, of Overy Street, Dartford, appeared before a jury at Maidstone Crown Court.

Sargeant has pleaded not guilty to murder and manslaughter and Wickenden has denied charges of assisting an offender and possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear or violence.

Mr McKinley, 32, was found in Overy Street with a gunshot wound on February 12. He was treated by ambulance staff at the scene before being taken to Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford, where he died from his injuries.

A post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death to be shock caused by abdominal haemorrhage after a gunshot wound to the left hip and buttock.
