Crews investigate cause of seventh floor fire in Gravesham Court

Firefighters faced heavy smoke

30 firefighters battled a smoke-logged flat on the seventh floor of a block of flats in Gravesham Court, Gravesend, yesterday.

Crews used six sets of breathing apparatus to find the source a fire, which had affected most of the floor in the tower block.

Six fire engines arrived on scene after Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called at 4.57pm yesterday (Wednesday).

The fire was brought under control at 5.55pm, with no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, but KFRS said it “will be investigated”.
