Police officers slammed the cell doors shut for the last time this week as they left the police station they have occupied for 40 years.

With the base in Instone Road, Dartford, now vacated, officers and civilian staff can be reached through the new Kent Police Contact Point operating out of Dartford Borough Council’s offices at the Civic Centre, Home Gardens.

Chief Inspector Philip Painter, in charge of neighbourhood policing in Dartford, said: “Experience has shown that providing joint public inquiry facilities improves public service and Kent Police has had a permanent police presence working alongside Dartford Borough Council through the Dartford Community Safety Unit for a few years now.

“The opening of a contact point at the same venue is an extension of our commitment to improve services to the communities.”

Opening hours for Dartford Contact Point are Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm, Saturday, 8am to 6pm and Sunday, 10am to 6pm.
