A former soldier has been found guilty of trying to blow up his pregnant wife with a car bomb.

The jury in the case of Nicholas Fabian, 33, of High View, Vigo, took just over an hour on Thursday to find him guilty of attempted murder and of causing an explosion likely to injure or endanger life.

Fabian has been on trial Maidstone Crown Court accused of attempting to murder Victoria Fabian, also 33, in March last year after planting a hand-grenade in the wheel arch of her Mazda, which exploded.

Judge Andrew Patience adjourned sentencing until today.
