The hub will open this summer
A cycle hub next to Gravesend station is set to open later this summer.
Based near Gravesend station, it will create 224 cycle parking spaces, and will also make Brompton and electric bikes available for hire.
Cyclists will be able to use the Gravesend Cycle Hub for maintenance and repair services.
Southeastern’s managing director David Statham said: “Our cycle hub will allow more passengers to store their bikes easily and safely but will also help get more people out and about on two wheels.
“The popularity of cycling has been rising across the network, so it’s great to see Southeastern improving facilities for cyclists.”
Transport minister Robert Goodwill added: “Secure cycle spaces at rail stations are critical to make cycling the natural choice for short journeys.
“The fantastic facilities that Gravesend will offer from later this year will help get more people on bikes, improving health and cutting congestion.
The compound will feature restricted swipe-card access to 180 secure spaces and a further 44 spaces will be available outside.
