Darent Valley has been chosen by the Royal Geographical Society as having some of the most interesting and diverse geography in the UK.

The area features as part of a project called Discovering Britain which offers different walks that tell the stories behind the UK’s landscapes.

The five-mile Darent Valley route from Eynsford to Shoreham focuses on the farming history of the land and how it was used to feed a nation during the Second World War.

Commenting on the project Michael Palin said: “Discovering Britain brings our country to life, beneath your feet.”
