Dartford and Gravesham Trust submit Queen Mary’s Hospital bid

Dartford and Gravesham Trust has submitted a bid to run services at Queen Mary’s Hospital.

History was made in July when administrators were called in to South London Healthcare Trust, which runs the Sidcup site.

It was the first time an NHS Trust had been effectively bankrupted.

It is understood that 39 organisations, including private companies, have expressed interest in running different parts of the failed Trust, which was also managing the Princess Royal in Bromley and Queen Elizabeth in Greenwich until it was placed into special measures.

A Dartford and Gravesham spokesman said the bid was confidential and that he could not elaborate on what services it would run from the hospital if its submission succeeded.
