Dartford Crossing traffic following Swanley lorry collision

A lorry has crashed into a footbridge on the London bound carriageway near Swanley.

Kent Police were called at 12.37pm today (December 5).

Officers, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and Highways officers are at the scene where no injuries have been reported.

The A20 is currently closed in both directions between the junctions with the M25 and A223 Crittals Corner.

The driver of the lorry has been arrested.

Ch insp Richard Smeed of Kent Police’s Roads Policing Unit said: “Officers are currently at the scene and working with other emergency services to get the road reopened as quickly as possible. I would ask that motorists avoid the area until we are able to fully open the road.”
