Motorists using crossing will all be diverted through the tunnels

The QEII bridge at the Dartford Crossing will be shut for a number of hours this weekend for maintenance work.

Traffic will be diverted in a contraflow through the east tunnel, meaning northbound traffic will limited to the west tunnel, which has a 4.8 metre height limit.

While the contraflow is installed and removed southbound traffic will be held.

Vehicles over 4.8 metres northbound will be diverted via the western section of the M25.

The closure will allow general maintenance, including the calibration of ice sensors and replacing electronic signs to be carried out together in one night.

The closure will run from 10pm on Saturday night to 5.30am on Sunday morning.
