Guntis Svikulis was almost twice the legal limit

A drink-driver has been banned for 20 months after being caught at almost twice the legal limit.

Guntis Svikulis, of Hook Green Lane, Dartford, had a breath test reading of 79 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath – compared with the legal limit of 35 microgrammes - when he was stopped by police in Mount Pleasant Road on February 1.

The 47-year-old admitted drink-driving at Dartford and Gravesham Magistrates’ Court. On top of his ban, he was fined £320 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.

His ban will be reduced to 15 months if he attends a rehabilitation course.
