A golf centre had a successful day raising money for a hospice.

Birchwood Park Golf Centre welcomed guests including the newly appointed Mayor of Dartford, Cllr Avtar Sandhu MBE, to put on a “Great Big Community Cuppa” event.

They raised a total of £578 for the Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice through a cake sale and a raffle, where the top prize was a complimentary bed & breakfast stay with two rounds of golf at Thornbury Golf Centre in Bristol.

Other prizes included a three month long gym membership at Birchwood Park’s Horizones Health and Fitness Club.

Melanie Drake, Birchwood Park Golf Centre General Manager, said: “Thank you to all of our generous members and visitors including Cllr Avtar Sandhu MBE for supporting us on the day and helping to raise this large amount of money for a great cause, that is local to us.”
