Dartford MP Gareth Johnson is set to fight for his seat at the next general election after being reselected by the town’s Conservatives.
He said: “I am delighted to have been readopted by Dartford Conservatives to be their candidate for the 2015 general election.
“It has been a genuine honour to have been the town’s MP over the last three and a half years and their support gives me the chance to continue to serve the people of Dartford beyond 2015.”
Drew Swinerd, the chairman of the Dartford Conservative Association, said: “Gareth has been rewarded for his hard work and dedication to his duties in representing the people of Dartford.
“The members of the association have shown their confidence that Gareth is the right man to continue his service to the public as the Member of Parliament for Dartford.
“We believe that he will be successfully re-elected in 2015 and will campaign vigorously to help bring that about.”
