A service which caters for children and young people excluded from school has received outstanding results in all categories in its recent Ofsted inspection.

North West Kent Alternative Provision Service (NWKAPS) in High Road, Dartford achieved outstanding status in pupil achievement, quality of teaching, behaviour and safety of pupils and leadership and management.

Executive headteacher Jo Southby said the results are a testament to the work put in by staff and pupils as the service was only formed 16 months ago.

She said: “This has taken quite a lot of work to get us in this position.

“For a service such as ours it’s really hard to get outstanding in every aspect because the kids have to show exemplary behaviour.

“Now we will aim to sustain and build on this achievement.”

NWKAPS received the results of the inspection last week, and it took place on June 25 and 26.
