Dartford tops Kent happiness table but Gravesend is ‘grumpy’

Dartford residents are the happiest in Kent according to a national survey, but the news will be unwelcome to “grumpy” Gravesend.

Gravesham was the unhappiest place in the county, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics.

In Dartford, people rated their feel-good factor at eight out of 10 but in Gravesham it was only six.

But it was not all doom and gloom in the borough, where people reported high levels of life satisfaction, self-worth and hardly any stress.

The results were cheery across the board in Dartford, which topped the Kent table for contentment, self-worth and had low anxiety levels.

The survey asked how satisfied people were with their lives, how worthwhile they were and how happy and anxious they felt the previous day.
