Dementia buddies pilot starts at Darent Valley

A pilot “dementia buddy” scheme was launched at Darent Valley Hospital on Friday which will pair patients with trained volunteers to increase social interaction and help escort them to appointments.

The £30,000 project funded by Kent Adult Social Services was successfully pitched by Northfleet charity Alzheimer’s & Dementia Services.
