Disability experience day coming to Gravesend

Gravesend access groups will be holding a disability awarneness experience day for councillors, MPs and Kent County Council Highways.
It will be held on May 12 from 11am to 1.30pm at Gravesend Civic Centre and attended by the Mayor, deputy Mayor, Cllr Harold Craske, Cllr John Caller and Cllr Jean Averibou.
The event is aiming to highlight the potential difficulties that wheelchair users and blind and partially sighted people face in their local communities.
Two groups will take part in a wheelchair exercise, where they will experience pushing someone in a wheelchair and being pushed, as well as a blindfolded walk with both a dog and long cane.
