Town centre roads have been declared a dispersal zone, allowing police to break up groups of more than two creating disturbance and order them to leave the area.

If they get together again within 24 hours, they can be arrested and could be fined, or face up to three months’ imprisonment.

Children under 16 years old can be taken home if they are congregating on the streets after 9pm.

The zone, which covers Darnley Street, Trafalgar Road, Wrotham Road, Wingfield Road, Clarence Place, Parrock Street, Wellington Street, Saddington Street, Manor Road and Rathmore Road in Gravesend, was set up in April and will run to October.

The neighbourhood team that covers this area is PC Sarah Lewis, PCSO Debbie Coker-Barnes and PCSO Padmini Holden, who can be contacted on 01474 366366 or emailed at gravesham.neighbourhood@kent.pnn.police.uk.
