A trio of noughties bands are set to play

Stone Fete is set to bring it all back this summer after announcing a trio of noughties legends to headline the local fete.

Pop giants S Club Party, formed from the remaining members of S Club 7, Jo O’Meara and Bradley McIntosh, will be making crowds reach up for the stars when they play on July 3.

The best UK act at 2003’s Mobo awards Big Brovas are also playing at the festival, to show off tracks such as Nu Flow and Favourite Things.

Dance duo Booty Luv are the third headlining act playing at Stone Recreation Ground.

Parish council chairman John Burrell said: “Stone Fete is a big feature of our Stone Parish heritage, as is Leydon’s sweet shop which has served the parish for many decades.

“It seems a fitting tribute to dedicate this year’s fete to Kath Leydon, who will be greatly missed by the local community.”

A wide selection of more than 60 stalls are already confirmed offering everything from cakes, confectionary and hot food to women’s clothing, hair accessories and tombola. Some limited availability is still available for pitches, stallholders should contact the council on 01322 384400 for further details.

The popular £5 ride-all-day funfair wristband is back and will include more rides and activities than ever before, including meet and greets with Disney Princesses and Dora the Explorer.

More announcements regarding the main stage line-up will follow soon.
