A young man has died after a crash in South Darenth last night.

The 26-year-old, who has not been named but was from the area, died at the scene of the accident, which happened on the A225 Dartford Road just after 10pm.

His silver Vauxhall Tigra had collided with a dark-coloured Mercedes at the junction with Station Road, near the railway bridge.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 41-year-old man, and his passenger, a 15-year-old girl, were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed for several hours.

Police are appealing for witnesses, including anyone who saw either of the cars in the moments before the crash, to call them on 01622 798538.
