The Duke of Gloucester attended the official opening of Swanley Link last week, along with a number of local dignitaries and councillors.

Swanley Link - the refurbished Swanley Library and Information Centre - is a one-stop shop for local residents to gain access to the town council, housing association, post office and other amenities.

It has been operating for nearly a year but was officially unveiled at a special event on Wednesday, July 6.

Staff from local charity ellenor, which has a presence at Swanley Link once a fortnight, were present at the opening.

Katherine Mobey, premium partnerships manager at ellenor, told the duke about the charity and the type of queries the team receives at Swanley Link.

Senior staff nurse Sarah Green said: “For many people in Swanley, getting to the hospice in Gravesend can be difficult – so we are delighted to be able to bring ellenor to them in their community.

“We provide 90 per cent of our care out in the community and having a presence at Swanley Link has been extremely beneficial.”
