An e-fit has been released of a man who came up behind a woman and put his hand up her skirt.

Kent Police said the woman was walking down Coldharbour Lane, Northfleet, between 5.35pm and 5.45pm on February 4 when she became aware of the man following her.

When she turned into Waterdales he caught up with her and assaulted her, demanding she take off her knickers.

The woman then threatened to call the police and the man apologised and ran off.

The suspect is described as 6ft tall, of medium build, with black hair and a dark marking on his right cheek.

Officers also want to trace the male driver of a white van parked on Vale Road who the victim made eye contact with before she was assaulted and who may have seen the offender.

Anyone with information should contact Kent Police on 101.
