On May 17 at around 10.30pm a woman in her 40s was walking her two dogs down an alleyway off Thames Way, Northfleet, when she was approached by two men drinking cans of lager.

One man said he wanted to stroke the dogs, but the woman asked them not to and passed them.

The men became agitated, following her and telling her they would take the dogs, before one grabbed her by the wrist while the other took the dog’s leads.

The woman managed to run away with the animals but was left “shaken” by the incident.

Investigating officer, DC Julia Pexton of Kent Police, said: “This incident left the woman badly shaken. She has helped us compile e-fit images of the two men who approached her and I’d ask anybody who recognises these people to contact me as soon as possible.”

Both men are described as being around 25 to 30 and of proportionate build.

One was around 5ft 8ins tall and the other around 5ft 10ins tall and both were wearing dirty blue jeans and checked shirts.

Anybody with information can contact DC Pexton on 01474 366001. Alternatively, to remain anonymous, call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
