Ebbsfleet beat league leaders Eastleigh

Ebbsfleet United are firmly back on the goals trial following a 3-1 over league leaders Eastleigh.
Fleet had struggled to score goals in the Conference South all season prior to Saturday’s 6-0 thrashing of Weston-super-Mare, but last night’s win moved them up to eighth in the table.
The home side took the lead after 19 minutes at Stonebridge Road. Alex Osborn played a superb ball through for Billy Bricknell, who fired his shot in off the inside off the post.
Eastleigh proceeded to push the home side back and duly equalised on the stroke of half-time.
A long kick from goalkeeper Ross Flitney found itself at the feet of former Charlton striker Stuart Fleetwood, and he beat Preston Edwards with ease.
It did not take long for Fleet to reassert their authority after the break though. Osborn cut into the penalty area and was brought down by Chris Todd - the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot.
After lengthy protests from Eastleigh’s players, Bricknell kept his cool to double his and Ebbsfleet’s tally.
Despite almost constant pressure from Eastleigh, Daryl McMahon completed the scoring in the final minute with a free-kick against his former club.
The promotion push is back on, and Ebbsfleet will go into Saturday’s FA Cup qualifier against Eastbourne full of confidence.
