Newly promoted Ebbsfleet United are gearing up to face Premier League opposition this weekend as Tottenham Hotspur visit Stonebridge Road.

The match was announced in the wake of former captain Paul McCarthy’s death from a suspected heart attack back in February, with profits from the match set to be donated to the father of four’s family.

During his time with The Fleet, the 45-year-old midfielder lifted the FA Trophy after a Wembley final in 2008, the club’s highest honour to date.

Spurs will visit Stonebridge Road on Saturday, July 15 for a 3pm kickoff.

The match is thought to have been originally organised when the Champions League outfit snatched academy prospect Shilow Tracey from The Fleet in 2016.

Adult admission for the match is £10, concessions are £8 and juniors £5, where under 12s normally go free, there will be a £1 charge to help raise money for the club legend’s family.
