Police are investigating another distraction burglary in the area after an elderly Swanley resident had “a large sum” of money stolen.

Police were called to an address in Fens Way on Friday April 25 to a report that a man had approached a resident and offered to carry out some gardening work.

The caller asked for an initial payment of a nominal fee and while the suspect was in the victim’s home a large amount of money was believed to have been stolen when the victim went to the toilet.

Det Serg Neil Kimber, of Kent Police, said: “We are making a number of enquiries in connection with this crime and would encourage anyone with any information or who saw anything suspicious to contact police.”
