More than 200 people attended an event aiming to raise awarness of dementia.

Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley’s “Adventure into Dementia” aimed to reduce stigma about the condition and officially launched the dementia friendly community forums for the three areas.

It took place at the Gravesend Rugby Football Club on May 21 and there were information stalls and presentations from organisations that work with people who have dementia.

Ann Allen, Kent County Cllr for Wilmington and Dartford Borough Cllr, said: “This was a fantastic event to launch the local dementia friendly community forums and we are really pleased that so many people came along. Dementia is likely to touch upon all of our lives in one way or another and we wanted to have a positive event about how people can live well with dementia, not about their limitations.”
