A Gravesend woman killed in a car crash on the A2 on Sunday of last week has been described as “kind and loving” by her family.

Jean Shaw, 72, died when the Honda Jazz she was travelling in was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Corsa on a Londonbound slip road at Pepperhill.

Her niece, Suzie Harbinson, said: “Jean was a loving Christian, who attended church without fail.

“She was a very kind and loving auntie, always smiling and always had a joke to make people laugh. She will be very sadly missed and I hope she rests in peace.”

A 30-year-old man, from Dartford, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been bailed pending further enquiries until November 11.

DS Scott Lynch, the investigating officer, said: “We are making steady progress with establishing the cause of what happened but I urge anyone who witnessed the collision and has still not contacted us to do so.”
