Fatal collision on M2

Kent Police are appealing for information following a fatal collision on the coastbound carriageway of the M2 between Junctions 2 and 3.

The incident happened at 9.10am on Thursday February 1.

A black Citroen Berlingo is reported to have left the carriageway and hit a wooden fence before turning onto its roof.

The driver, a 44-year-old man from Gravesend, was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The road was closed for a number of hours while officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit carried out a forensic examination of the area.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or the vehicle prior to the collision, and has not yet spoken to an officer, is asked to call 01622 798 538 quoting reference DS/GD/016/18.
